Chiltern Swimming Pool
BRIEF Having worked with Indigo Shire Council on several prior projects, we were contacted regarding providing additional shaded areas for facility users at the Chiltern Memorial Pool. The ideal solution would provide shade to grassed areas for families, the pool concourse for lifeguards and pool users, and also some coverage onto the pool itself at varying times of the day.
OUTCOME After reviewing the site and some challenges regarding column locations, we proposed two of our 8m x 8m Star structures in order to achieve the maximum shade coverage with the fewest possible columns being required. The centre post design allows users to access the shaded space from all directions, and the shade coverage extends to the concourse and pool during the key UV times without any interruption from columns.
