BRIEF As a new school in a rapidly growing area, Laurimar Primary School required a major additional covered space to facilitate continued growth. The central concrete sports and assembly area as identified as the most ideal location. It was important to maintain sightlines across the space to the mountain ranges to the north and keep the area as free of columns as possible. The school also wanted to maximise natural lighting to surrounding buildings.
OUTCOME The Greenline curved roof COLA provides an amazing central assembly area and is used daily for all manner of school and wider community events including club netball training. The offset curve maximises the weather protection through to existing buildings while the high northern aspect maintains the open feel of the space. Sky-lighting strips integrated into roofing ensure the area remains bright all day!
